I participated in an ornament exchange this year. There were 20 of us, all female artists and/or crafters. We got together at a potluck with our covered basket of ornaments. Each one of us took a turn, taking the cover off. and showing our ornament - and while the basket went around the room (so everyone could pick an ornament), we talked about how we chose it, or the technique, or whatever. It was great fun, and I am looking forward to next year. What a talented group, all the ornaments are beautiful and hanging in my home. I have one that will hang in my studio, as it a snowman - and they get to hang out all winter!!!
I made raindeer pins - of course - they can hang on your tree, or your display, or your lapel. I do like functional & versital art.

Why Polywog?
Perhaps a better question is why not Polywog?
Growing up in the mid-west, with a houseful of brothers, the Polywog Pond was the best place to escape. Although it was across the street from home, to me, the pond was deep in the forest. Quiet and peaceful, what an exciting place to watch for frog eggs, or finally discover they had hatched into polliwogs, and eventually see them turn into frogs.
And the colors, what an array of colors! From the deepest greens, to the softest blues, mixed in were a blur of browns, and yellows, and violets... Splashes of white, pink and perhaps orange or fuchsia.
The fiber art process is very similar. Finding the fabrics, cutting them into pieces, joining the pieces to make a top, quilting it together to make an an art quilt. And the colors and textures of the fabrics, unlimited.
The Polywog Pond will continue to live on...

This is how I will always remember my brother Chuck- as my big brother - who protected me and my many furry friends from many misfortunes. He was a Vietnam Vet who made it back -
He may be gone from this life - but he is NOT FORGOTTEN.

I will always remember my little brother Randy - he was well liked, and kind to all. He had a good heart and I miss him each and every day. He proudly served his country in the US Marines, and had one lovely daughter Lyn, who he cherished.
His life was difficult, as he struggled with brittle diabetes, but he never gave up.
He is gone from this life - but he is NOT FORGOTTEN.
